Week 6

Looking at my sixth week, which was the 18th, 20th,
21st, 22ndand 23rd, I was excited because it was going to
be a five day week for me and I was going to get a lot of my hours this week.
Though as life goes things change, first on the 18th I was told they
did not need me on the 20th which was supposed to be prep for the
upcoming high school boy’s shoot-out. Then on the 22nd I was told
that the shoo-out on the 23rd had been cancelled, so what started off
as a five day week with possibly 30-35 hours for the internship is now a three
day week only with 22 hours worked. I must say this concerns me because my
internship is supposed to end June 30 and loosing these hours will hurt that, so
now I might have to extend into July to finish it up, in any case it’s going to
be interesting.

On the 18thI had to be at Red Hawk Golf Course at 11:30am to
work the Tiffin University golf tournament. I was unsure of what exactly I would
be doing but I expected an interesting day. When I got to the golf course Coach
Hill told me I was going to be a ball spot on one of the par 5’s. Unfortunately
my day was cut short around 15:30 because of lighting and Coach Hill did not
want me out there with any cover. Though, I did not get as many hours as I would
have liked, I still got 4 hours out of the way. On the 21st and
22nd I helped out with the high school boys shoot-out. I did a few
different things through both days. I help set up and tear down; I ran a score
board; I made sure both locations had snacks and drinks; but my main job was
working the front door taking people’s money for admission and selling snacks
and t-shirts. This week was a little disappointing in that I did not get as many
hours as I thought I would be getting. Even with the not getting as many hours
as I thought I would this was still the most fun I had of all the weeks of the
 internship.

Week 5

My fifth week was a four days going from June 11th,
12th, 13thand 14th. I knew what I would be
doing on the 11th but after that I had no idea what Coach Hill was
going to have me do. I must say the not knowing what the next thing I was doing
was kind of exciting. I knew it was not going to be anything adventurous but it
was nice not having the whole week already planned out. It is not that this
internship is boring but it has become a little predictable, so hopefully this
will give me a little extra kick to finish
strong.

As, I stated before I knew what I was going to be doing on the
11th and that was finishing up some film break down of one of the
basketball players. I was able to finish that up on the 11th and when
I came in on the 12thCoach Hill wanted me to help him organize all
the prizes and swag and signs for the upcoming golf tournament, so when Thursday
came it would be easier to pack the truck for the tournament. The
13th was a pretty simple day, I organized and filed some paper work
and did some online research on some athletic programs and activities for the
basketball team when they go on their road trips. The 14th was just
as expected; we put together the swag bags that are going to be given to the
golfers at the tournament and packed everything that was going to be used at the
golf tournament on the box truck. Though, nothing to exciting happened this week
it was still a nice change of pace and it allowed me to work and interact with
other people and that was nice, since I had primarily worked by myself up to
this point.

Week 4

Coach Hill is back from vacation and the start of my fourth week begins.
The day I started back up was June 4th and I will also there the
5thand 6th of June. It was very nice to have a week off,
to recharge my batteries but I was ready to start back up so I can get done with
this internship and be one more step closer to graduating. I was not sure what I  would be doing all week but I did know what I was going to be in store for me  on my first day. Regardless of what I did the rest of the week I was still  looking forward to getting back in the swing of
things.

I knew coming into this week that I would be finishing up on the computer  inventory list of the cage and locker room. I was getting close to completion,  so I thought I would show Coach Hill the list. He said it looked ok but wanted  some changes, so I had to re-do a few things which took me all of my first day.  On the 5th I did just a lot of busy work filing paper work and  looking up stuff on the computer about teams that are in the conference. The  next day was an interesting day; I had to go through all the men’s basketball  games to pull out clips on one player to make a highlight reel for him. Though,  enjoyable it was very time consuming and a little exhausting because you have to pay attention to who has the ball all the time. Though I did not get through
all the games, it will at least give me something to do at the beginning of  next week. Well the first week back from my mini break was not very eventful  but I was glad to back and looking forward to the next few weeks because it is  one step closer to graduation!
